Over night the song went viral, and changed his life.

NASI PADANG – A VIRAL ADVENTURE

is a short feelgood documentary about Audun Kvitland who makes a lovesong about an Indonesian food dish called Nasi Padang after having been on vacation in the country. The song goes viral and is immediately seen by millions after its release. In the documentary we will see how strange and unpredictable things can turn out because of social media today. This situation has also given us a unique opportunity to catch an exclusive glimpse into the world’s largest muslim population. Kvitland undertakes a journey where people are united across cultures, languages and traditions over food and music. The story is unpredictable, touching and sometimes troubling, but most of all humorous and refreshing.

A SELECTION OF KVITLAND’S OTHER SONGS FROM INDONESIA

THAT CAME ABOUT IN THE BACKLASH OF THE VIRAL SONG NASI PADANG

KOMODO PING PONG

After Nasi Padang, Kvitland went on to make Komodo Ping-Pong. Indonesia is the only country in the world that has Comodo dragons. It has become a national symbol. In his dream Kvitland saw a Comodo dragon play ping pong. Unfortunately his hands were too short!

BANGGA JADI INDONESIA

When Kvitland was invited back to Indonesia by the Governor of West-Sumatra a lot of things happened. Among other things, he was invited to an Indonesian travel program called “Robinson Journey”. His experiences from the trip was so amazing, he just had to make another song. Bangga Jadi Indonesia went on to become the theme song for the series!

LAGU WEST SUMATRA

Kvitland made Lagu West Sumatra to show gratitude towards the people of Indonesia for warm-heartedly welcoming him and showing him their amazing country. Even the Governor of West Sumatra and a whole bunch of other Indonesians sing along in this song. Food and music have the power to unite people across cultures indeed.

NASI PADANG – INDONESIAN VERSION

With the help of his friend Vina K, Audun Kvitland made an Indonesian remake of the song that made him popular in Indonesia. The Production Company Spœtt Film made a great job on the visuals, and a professional choir sings along – off course: Nasi Padang!
